Pauch Racing Recap 7/24/17

Mandee Pauch Relations – July 24, 2017 – ‘The Kids Kid’ from Milford, N.J. emerged victorious not only once, but twice this past week in two different divisions.

Looking at the stats, Billy Pauch Jr. has run more than most part-time drivers as we head to the middle of the season. Pauch Jr. has 53 races under his belt so far this season, which includes eight victories, 29 top-five’s and 39 top-ten’s.

Pauch Jr. ran three races this past week in three different divisions.

His first night of racing kicked off Wednesday at Action Track USA in Kutztown, P.A.

Wednesday evening opened up with Pauch Jr. setting quick time in the SpeedSTR, which locked him into the main event.

Pauch Jr. rolled off on the inside of the fifth row for the 30-lap main event.

“We were able to start ninth and avoid some of the wrecks and drive our way up to first by lap 16,” Pauch Jr. said. “We were struggling a bit there so it was nice to get back into victory lane.”

Pauch Jr.’s last SpeedSTR win came back in may for the Action Track season opener.

Pauch Jr. started second in the 600 Micro Sprint heat race and finished where he started – second.

Pauch Jr. started on the outside of the fifth row for the main event.

“Were running pretty good but the driver missed the shift halfway through the race so we didn’t really gain a lot. So once I figured that out we got better and had a solid fourth-place finish.”

Friday evening saw Pauch Jr. jump behind the wheel of the Danny’s Pizza Pizzazz No.51 Modified at Georgetown Speedway.

Pauch Jr. was able to pick off a few cars and qualify fourth from his seventh-place starting spot in the heat race. His fourth-place finish placed him in the redraw for the 25-lap main event.

With the luck of the draw, Pauch Jr. drew second for the feature.

“I was able to jump to an early lead at the start of the green and led all 25 laps,” he said. “I was happy to put the Danny’s Pizza Pizzazz car in victory lane.”

Not only was the victory the car owners first win, but it was also Pauch Jr.’s first ever win in the state of Delaware.

Pauch Jr. and Sr. were scheduled to race on Saturday at Bridgeport Speedway but due to Mother Nature the race was canceled.

Pauch Jr. has a full week of racing ahead for him. He will start his week off at New Egypt Speedway on Tuesday, then to Action Track USA on Wednesday, Big Diamond Speedway on Friday, New Egypt Speedway on Saturday and Susquehanna Speedway on Sunday. As of right now Pauch Sr. is only scheduled to run Susquehanna Speedway on Sunday; Saturday is currently up in the air.
